Pre-Summit Member Conference

Pre-Summit Member Conference

We bring our members together to learn from experts and share best practices

Ahead of the World Hepatitis Summit, we bring together our 250+ members for a unique event that enables patient organisations to share experiences, build capacity and strengthen relationships. This is achieved through a combination of expert and peer-led presentations and workshops. The lessons learnt can be put into practice at the World Hepatitis Summit when discussing their national response with policy makers, public health experts and funders.

Pre-Summit Member Conference 2017

138 WHA member organisations joined us for a day and a half event that took place 30 – 31 October ahead of the World Hepatitis Summit 2017. With capacity building sessions on access to medicines and diagnostics and the NOhep movement as well as the opportunity for delegates to set their own topics in our Open Space session, it proved to be an engaging and informative conference which put the patient voice at the centre. The event also enabled us to bring our members and the WHO regional focal points together to discuss issues within their region.

The programme centred around peer-to-peer led workshops on advocacy, fundraising and media. It featured WHA’s first ‘in person’ Annual General Meeting where the idea behind NOhep was first raised and a formal poster session allowed for networking and sharing of best practices.
